Overview

Upper Dolpo is a wilderness trekking destination in remote part of western Nepal. Upper Dolpo trekking gives the real taste of wilderness adventure. Trekking in Dolpo area is a journey into the isolated part beyond the Himalayas.
 
Upper Dolpo Trek takes us along the high passes of the Upper Dolpa region. A relatively easy trek as compared to Everest trekking, the trails follow good paths.

Where is Upper Dolpo?

Dolpo or Dolpa is one of the remote part of Nepal which lies in the Mid-western region of the country bordered by Dhaulagiri and Churen range at the East and South and Jumla at the West. Since the pristine beauty and the charm of the place holds onto many people, tourists often come return back to experience it all over again.

Since its opening in 1989, upper dolpo trekking has been popular with trekkers from all over the world. The locals and the cultural heritage that seems to stand still is something that makes this trek a really special one. And no to forget the view of Mt. Dhaulagiri, SheyPhoksundo Lake, the landscapes, preserved ecosystem and occasional encounter with exotic wildlife species such as Blue Sheep, Snow Leopard etc. Still waiting for you to explore its hidden wonders, upper dolpo is calling you out!! 
 

Best Time for Dolpo Trekking

Upper Dolpo trekking is best in monsoon and spring season. Autumn season also suitable for trekking but winter is not recommended time for trekking.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to hotel, overnight at hotel.


Day 2 : Sight seeing in Kathmandu Valley (1300m)


Day 3 : Pre-plan meeting for the trip and sight seeing around at Kathmandu


Day 4 : Fly to Nepaljung and transfer to hotel.


Day 5 : Fly to Juphal Airport (2,475m) and trk to Dunai(2,140m)


Day 6 : Trek to Shyanta (2,520m)


Day 7 : Trek to Rechi (2,940m)


Day 8 : Trek to Phoksundo (3,733m)


Day 9 : Exploration and resk day at Phoksundo lake.


Day 10 : Trek along the west side of the lake to point (3,756m)


Day 11 : Trek to Mandala(4570m)


Day 12 : Trek to Shey Gompa (4160m) via crossing the hardest pass Nangdalo Pass (5,110m)


Day 13 : Trek to Namgung (4,380m) via crossing the Saldang Pass (5,010m)


Day 14 : Trek to Rapa Gompa , Chagaon (3,890m)


Day 15 : Trek to the forest camp site(4020m)


Day 16 : Trek to Shimen Gaon (3,890m) via crossing Shimen Pass (4260m)


Day 17 : Trek to Tinjegaon(4150m)


Day 18 : Trek to Camp site(4210m)


Day 19 : Trek to Charka Bhot (4,110m) via Mola Bhanjyang Pass (5027m)


Day 20 : Trek via the Niwal Pass (5120m) to Sangdok(4790m)


Day 21 : Trek to Santo(3700m)


Day 22 : Trek to Kagbeni(2800m)


Day 23 : Trek to Muktinath(3800m)


Day 24 : Trek to Jomsom(2710m)


Day 25 : Fly to Pokhara


Day 26 : Drive or flight to Kathmandu.


Day 27 : Rest Day.


Day 28 : DEPARTURE.
