Best Time for Three High Passes Trekking in Nepal

Nepal has two best trekking seasons in a year - spring (March-May) and Autumn (September - November). Apart from these months, Nepal experiences a few extreme weather conditions, which makes trekking more challenging. The months from December to February are extremely cold and June to August are rainy. 

Although it is possible to trek during these winter and summer months, the weather condition will be pretty challenging. It is quite an uncomfortable situation to trek in extreme weather conditions.

The first day of your adventure trip to the Three Passes Trek starts with your arrival to Kathmandu. Our company representative will welcome you at the airport on your arrival. He will transfer you to the hotel where you can find an easy time to relax after checking in. We will meet you in the evening at the hotel to talk about the trip in details. Any questions you may have regarding your trip will be discussed so that you are well-prepared for the trip.
We have an early morning flight to Lukla today. So, we drive to the airport for the exciting Himalayan flight to the gateway to the Everest region. A wonderful flight on a small airplane takes us to the beautiful town of Lukla with the views of stunning mountains.

Please Note: The flight to Lukla takes of from Kathmandu and Ramechhap. If we are flying to  Lukla from Ramechhap, we need to drive for 4-5 hours.

After landing at Lukla, we meet our whole trekking crew and get ready to walk for the day. It is an easy start of the walk of the adventure trek to the Everest Base Camp. We are going to trek to Phakding village on the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Around four hours of trek today introduces us to the trail, surroundings, nature, and the views of mountains in the Everest region. The atmosphere of our overnight site, Phakding, feels amazing on the bank of the gushing river.
The second day of the walk today takes us to the beautiful and famous Sherpa town of Namche Bazar at the elevation of 3,440 meters above sea level. Almost all uphill walk for the day takes us past beautiful natural surroundings of nature and the view of mountains. As we enter the Sagarmatha National Park today, we will also walk over several suspension bridges over the gushing river.

Finally, we reach Namche Bazar after the walk of around six hours. The view of the mountains and wonderful surroundings of Namche helps us relax and settle. We take it easy to acclimatize well at the changing climatic situation and elevation.
We have an extra day stopover at Namche today that will help us acclimatize well before we head further higher. Namche has beautiful places in the surroundings where we can go for day hiking and exploration instead of staying idle at the lodge and bazar. The hiking exploration for the day will also help us get better acclimatized and we become ready to trek to the higher elevation.
As you make your way to Thame today, following the Bhote Koshi River, you will journey through groves of rhododendron and pine trees. Your adventure will kick off in Namche Bazaar. Along the way, you will also encounter the mud-plastered stupa located at Phurte. The following destination on Three High Passes Trek is Thame. We stay overnight at Thame today.
We will trek to Lungden today, one step closer to Renjo La pass, the first of the three passes we are crossing on this adventure. The walk today takes us over 4000 meters to stay overnight today. 
We are going to cross a high mountain pass today. The trek will take us to 5,345 meters above sea level at Renjo La Pass and descend to Gokyo Lakes to stay overnight. It is a challenging day yet a wonderful adventure experience.
We will hike to Gokyo Ri, one of the high mountain viewpoints during the adventure, early in the morning to witness a breathtaking view of the mountains. After hiking to Gokyo Ri, we return back to Gokyo Lake to spend the rest of the afternoon in the serenity and mangnificence of Gokyo Valley.
We will trek to Thagnak today, a short trekking day. After settiling in the teahouse at Thagnag, we will take it easy here exploring and resting for another pass adventure tomorrow.
We are going to trek over the second pass of the adventure today. The trek for the day takes us to Cho La pass (5,420m) while heading to Dzongla to stay overnight today.
The trek today takes us to Lobuche to meet the trail to the Everest base camp. We take a good rest at Lobuche preparing for the trek towards the base camp tomorrow. 
Finally, the most exciting day of the trip has arrived. We are going to be at the base camp of Mt. Everest and enjoy the blissful moments there. But before that, we surely need to walk for the day. We will trek towards Gorakshep that is our overnight site for the day and check into a lodge before heading to the base camp. The walk to the Everest base camp starts after relishing our lunch at the highest overnight site for the trip.

Eventually the famous Everest Base Camp is right there where we will stand. We enjoy the overwhelmingly magnificent surroundings of the base camp and spend some beautiful moments there. Later, we need to trek back to Gorakshep to stay overnight. The day has brought us to the base camp of the highest mountain in the world.
Although every day of the adventure trek to the Everest base camp is exciting, we are due another incredibly exciting moment of the trip. The early morning hiking trip to the Kalapatthar viewpoint is what we are looking forward to early in the morning. Our early morning effort to hike to the highest elevation of the trek is worth going for. The panoramic view of the Mt. Everest and other mountains in the surroundings is simply breathtaking. We will also get to enjoy a joyous sunrise experience over the mountains.

Later, we hike back down to Gorakshep and trek further down to Dingboche. 
We are going to trek over the third mountain pass of the adventure - Kongma La (5,528m) today and trek to Chhukung to stay overnight. The trek to day completes the trek over three high passes, two viewpoints and Everest Base Camp. 
We are trekking to Tengboche today. After all the trekking over the passes, viewpoints, and the base camp, the trek today onwards will feel easy. Once we reach Tengboche, we will explore Tengboche Monastery and the village.
We are going to trek to Monjo. The trek takes us to Monjo past Namche Bazar to stay overnight. 
We are on the final day of the trek and it takes us back to Lukla to stay overnight. It is time to celebrate the accomplishment of the Three High Passes Trek. 
We take a morning flight back to Kathmandu or Ramechhap. If we fly to Kathmandu,, we will have time to spend at leisure in Kathmandu. But if we fly to Ramechhap, we will drive for 4-5 hours to reach Kathmandu.
We are on the final day of the adventure and we will drive you to the airport for your flight back home or another destination.

Day 8: Gokyo Ri (5,357m) Acclimatizing Hike - B.L.D
We will hike to Gokyo Ri, one of the high mountain viewpoints during the adventure, early in the morning to witness a breathtaking view of the mountains. After hiking to Gokyo Ri, we return back to Gokyo Lake to spend the rest of the afternoon in the serenity and mangnificence of Gokyo Valley.
Day 9: Gokyo - Thagnak (4,750m) - B.L.D
We will trek to Thagnak today, a short trekking day. After settiling in the teahouse at Thagnag, we will take it easy here exploring and resting for another pass adventure tomorrow.
Day 10: Thagnak - Cho La (5,420m) - Dzongla - B.L.D

Day 11: Dzongla - Lobuche (4,940m) - B.L.D
The trek today takes us to Lobuche to meet the trail to the Everest base camp. We take a good rest at Lobuche preparing for the trek towards the base camp tomorrow. 
Day 12: Lobuche - Everest Base Camp (5,364m) - Gorakshep (5,164m) - B.L.D
Finally, the most exciting day of the trip has arrived. We are going to be at the base camp of Mt. Everest and enjoy the blissful moments there. But before that, we surely need to walk for the day. We will trek towards Gorakshep that is our overnight site for the day and check into a lodge before heading to the base camp. The walk to the Everest base camp starts after relishing our lunch at the highest overnight site for the trip.

We are trekking to Tengboche today. After all the trekking over the passes, viewpoints, and the base camp, the trek today onwards will feel easy. Once we reach Tengboche, we will explore Tengboche Monastery and the village.
Day 16: Tengboche - Monjo (2,835m) - B.L.D
We are going to trek to Monjo. The trek takes us to Monjo past Namche Bazar to stay overnight. 
Day 17: Monjo - Lukla (2,860m) - B.L.D
We are on the final day of the trek and it takes us back to Lukla to stay overnight. It is time to celebrate the accomplishment of the Three High Passes Trek. 
Day 18: Lukla - Kathmandu (1,400m) - B
We take a morning flight back to Kathmandu or Ramechhap. If we fly to Kathmandu,, we will have time to spend at leisure in Kathmandu. But if we fly to Ramechhap, we will drive for 4-5 hours to reach Kathmandu.
Day 19: Departure Day - B
We are on the final day of the adventure and we will drive you to the airport for your flight back home or another destination.
