Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lake is a special trekking package combined with the great places of the Everest area. Visiting the beautiful Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp on the same trekking package offers wonderful opportunities.
The trekking package combines the major iconic places of the Everest region during the trek. It gives plenty of opportunities to explore the lifestyle, culture, mountain views, and Buddhism in Nepal. After visiting the beautiful
Gokyo Lakes, you trek to the
Everest Base Camp eventually.
Crossing the high pass such as Cho La Pass makes this trekking more adventurous.
Trekking Route
After flying to Lukla, the trekking starts via Phakding, Namche, Dole, and Machhermo to reach Gokyo Valley. Explore the beautiful lakes of Gokyo Valley in which Dudh Pokhari (Gokyo Cho), Thonak Cho (largest), Gyazumpa Cho, Tanjung Cho, and Ngojumba Cho are the major ones.
The Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Valley offers you an experience to know the Alpine Himalayan ecosystem and wildlife better than anywhere else. The Gokyo Ri (5330 m) is one of the highlights from where you will enjoy the wonderful panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and other several peaks with a beautiful landscape of Gokyo Valley.
Food and Accommodation
The Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lake uses basic lodges along the trail. As you trek along the trail, there are several places where you can stay overnight. While you stay at your overnight stop, you can also explore the village that you are in.
Food is another factor that you have to be careful of while trekking in the mountains. You can get a variety of foods during the trek. Dal Bhat is the main food that you can find easily while other food options depend upon the places that you are at. Most of the places will give you the option to choose your food from the menu. You can eat from momo to pizza and chowmin to pasta.
Your Guide and Team of Porters
As an organized trekking adventure package, you will have a professional guide leading you to the Everest base camp via Gokyo Lakes. The guide will ensure your trip is safe and make it a fun and beautiful adventure. All our guides have been to different regions of the Himalayas leading and guiding trekkers for many years.
You will also have a team of porters carrying your backpack in the mountains. A porter carries the backpacks of two trekkers and up to 20 kg only. So, when you pack your backpack, you need to make sure it doesn't exceed 10 kg each.
When to go on the Trek
Nepal has two best trekking seasons in a year - spring (March- May) and Autumn (September - November). Apart from these months, Nepal experiences a few extreme weather conditions, which makes trekking more challenging. The months from December to February are extremely cold and June to August are rainy.
Although it is possible to trek during these winter and summer months, the weather conditions will be pretty challenging. It is quite an uncomfortable situation to trek in extreme weather conditions.
Trekking Permit
You will need to obtain a permit to be in the mountains. Some of the trekking areas require you to get a special permit. However, this trek needs a normal permit for trekking in the region.
From TIMS cards to National parks and local government royalty, you will have it all covered by the cost when you are on our package. For more information about permits, seasonal guides, and essentials check
Gokyo Ri Trek information.
