To embark on this trek, we have to fly to Lukla from Kathmandu or Ramechhap. The trek starts at Lukla and goes through Phakding, Namche Bazar, Dole, and Machhermo to reach Gokyo Valley. After exploring the beautiful lakes in Gokyo Valley, the trek goes towards Cho La pass. While exploring Gokyo, we can see 5 beautiful lakes- Dudh Pokhari (Gokyo Cho), Thonak Cho (Largest), Gyazumpa Cho, Tanjung Cho, and Ngojumba Cho.
After exploring the Gokyo Valley, the trek takes you towards the Everest Base Camp. You will cross Cho La pass (5,420m) enroute to the Everest base camp. You will also hike to Kalapatthar to witness the surreal view of Mt. Everest and other mountains in the region.
The Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Valley offers you an experience to know the Alpine Himalayan ecosystem and wildlife better than anywhere else. During the trek, you can hike to Gokyo Ri (5330 m), which is one of the highlights fo the trek.
You will enjoy wonderful panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and other several peaks with a beautiful landscape of Gokyo Valley. Gokyo Ri also offers breathtaking views of the lakes in the valley and the magnificent Ngozumpa glacier.

The Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lake uses basic lodges along the trail. As you trek along the trail, there are several places where you can stay overnight. While you stay at your overnight stop, you can also explore the village that you are in.
Food is another factor that you have to be careful of while trekking in the mountains. You can get a variety of foods during the trek. Dal Bhat is the main food that you can find easily while other food options depend upon the places that you are at. Most of the places will give you the option to choose your food from the menu. You can eat from momo to pizza and chowmin to pasta.
While you sign up for our Everest base camp trek via Gokyo Lake, you will have a team of guide and porters to take care of you in the mountains. As a trained and expereinced professional, the trekking guide and his team of porters will ensure your saftey. They will also make sure that you enjoy the trek. The porters will help you carry your backpack throughout the trek. We assign a porter for two trekkers and can carry a miximumb of 20 kg . So, request you to pack wisely for the mountains.
Nepal has two best trekking seasons in a year - spring (March- May) and Autumn (September - November). Apart from these months, Nepal experiences a few extreme weather conditions, which makes trekking more challenging. The months from December to February are extremely cold and June to August are rainy.
Although it is possible to trek during these winter and summer months, the weather conditions will be pretty challenging. It is quite an uncomfortable situation to trek in extreme weather conditions. But if you trek to the mountains in winter and summer, it will have its own distinct charm despite all the odds.
You will need to obtain a permit to be in the mountains. Some of the trekking areas require you to get a special permit. However, this trek needs a normal permit for trekking in the region.

After landing at Lukla, we meet our whole trekking crew and get ready to walk for the day. It is an easy start of the walk of the adventure trek to the Everest Base Camp. We are going to trek to Phakding village on the bank of the Dudh Koshi River. Around four hours of trek today introduces us to the trail, surroundings, nature, and the views of mountains in the Everest region. The atmosphere of our overnight site, Phakding, feels amazing on the bank of the gushing river.Please Note: The flight to Lukla takes of from Kathmandu and Ramechhap. If we are flying to Lukla from Ramechhap, we need to drive for 4-5 hours.
