Nepal is home of the highest mountain peaks in the world. Out of 10 highest peaks, Nepal has 8 peaks. Highest peaks in the world are. It is no hidden secret that Nepal is known across the world as the land of the Himalayas as eight mountain peaks among the 14 peaks in the world that are above 8,00 meters of altitude are located in Nepal.
Top Highest Peak
Most popular of them all is of course the Mount Everest, world’s tallest mountain peak, situated along the northern part of the country. All these Himalayan peaks are one of the major reasons why hundreds of thousands of foreigners visit this tiny nation in South Asia. As we all know, Everest is the tallest mountain in the world with altitude of 8,848 meters from sea level. This is also the reason why Everest Trekking is one the popular trekking routes in the world.
Third Highest Peak
Mount Kanchenjunga is the third tallest peak in the world with an altitude of 8, 586 meters. Such beautiful mountains have made peak climbing in Nepal almost like an annual event when many foreigners visit the country to scale the mountains. Trekking in Nepal has fostered primarily due to the plethora of beautiful and marvelous mountains and the level of adventure they guarantee along the trail.
Fourth to Tenth Highest Peak
Likewise, Mount Lhotse is the 4th highest peak in the world with an altitude of 8,516 meters located in the Khumbhu region. The 5th-8th highest peaks in the world also fall in Nepal with them being Mount Makalu (8462m), Cho Oyu (8201m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) and Manaslu (8156m). The last one in the list of above eight thousand meters is Annapurna I (8091m), the tenth highest peak in the world. The presence of all these lofty peaks has meant that several trekking trails like Annapurna Trekking, Langtang Trekking have become popular trekking destinations in Nepal. Annapurna Trekking route is a famous route not just in Nepal but also worldwide for adventure trekkers.
