Manaslu Circuit Trek

Manaslu circuit Trek is one of the least crowded trekking areas of Nepal and it is one the favored trekking routes in Annapurna region. The trek allows panoramic views of Manaslu Mountain (8163 m) and Ganesh Mountain Range. The journey takes us through Budhi Gandaki River to Larkya Pass (5125 m). Since Manaslu Circuit trekking covers geographical locations at various altitudes, we can experience different landscapes ranging from forest to countryside to high pass of Larkya La (5125 m) to glaciers to mountain.

We will traverse Budhi Gandaki and move through Marsyangdi valley before making slow descends through alpine meadows in Bimtang. Moving further, we will arrive at Annapurna Circuit route which will take us to scenic city of Besisahar.

Day 17: Departure

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival (1310m)

Once you land at the only international Airport of Nepal in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative. He will transfer you to the luxurious three star category hotel where you will get briefing of your itinerary. Have a comfortable stay overnight in hotel.   

Day02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

Kathmandu is a very lively city with beautiful harmony in between traditions and modernity. We will take UNESCO tour on second day after breakfast. The tour begins from Pashupatinath which is the holiest Hindu temple. This temple complex exists at the bank of Bagmati River. We can observe Hindu way of cremation in Aryaghat located at the bank. We will then move to Bouddhanath which is the largest Buddhist Stupa in Nepal. Our next stop will be at Kathmandu Durbar Square which is the ancient royal residence of Nepal. From Durbar Sqaure, we will walk to Thamel- the major tourist hub clustered with antique shops and then return to hotel.

Day03: Drive: Kathmandu to Soti Khola (710m) via Arughat (695m) 8-9 hrs

After breakfast, we will take 8 hours of drive to reach Arughat via Dhading Besi. Dhading Besi is the district headquarters of Dhading (1050m). The road is bit rough after Dhading Besi. It takes one and half hour of drive from Arughat to reach Soti Khola. Overnight stay in Soti Khola.

Day04: Trek to Machha Khola (900m) 5-6 hrs

We will begin our trek on fourth day. Leaving Soti Khola, we will move along Budhi Gandaki. After descending for a brief period, we will reach Armala. We will take the trail through forest to the Gurung village of Lapubesi. Couple of hours of climb from Lapubesi will take us to Machha Khola. We can get close-up views of Ganesh Mountain and Buddha Mountain. Overnight stay in Machha Khola.

Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1340m) 6 hrs

We will cross Machha Khola and make it to Khorlabesi. Walking along paddy field, we will reach hot spring called Tato Pani. Water from this spring is believed to have power to cure skin disease. Walking through the forest, we will cross the new suspension bridge and reach Dobhan from where we will move to small village of Jagat. Stay overnight in Jagat.

Day 06: Trek to Philim (1700m) 5 hrs

Once we arrive at Jagat, the officials will check our trekking permit. We will follow the stone steps and lower down to river. From river, we will follow the raised path to Salleri. Salleri allows scenic view of Sringi Mountain (7190m). We will reach Sirdibas village and move along water-mill to Philim where we will stay overnight.

Day 07:  Trek to Deng (2095m) 5 hrs

Walking along farmlands from Philim, we will reach Ekle Bhatti. The journey continues through gorge to the suspension bridge. We will cross the suspension bridge over Budhi Gandaki River and proceed north to Nyak. We can get view of Ganesh Himal IV Mountain from Nyak. Crossing Dyang River, we will reach Deng. Stay overnight in Deng.

Day 08: Trek to Namrung (2900m) 5 hrs

After couple of hours of easy walk from Deng, we will climb uphill to Rana. The trail continues through forest area to Bihi Phedi. We can get close-up view of Kutang Himal from Bihi Phedi. Buddhism is the chiefly dominant religion in this area. We will cross Serang River and reach Ghap. Walking through the stone steps, we will reach Namrung where we will stay overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Samagaon (3500m) 6 hrs

We will leave Namrung early in the morning. We will follow the easy trail to Banjam village and proceed further to Lihi (2920m) where we will stop by the local monastery. The path is scenic that allows view of Simnang Himal (6251 m). We will move towards the Tibetan village of Sho that greets us with view of Manaslu Mountain. We will make it to Sama Gaon where we will stay overnight.

Day 10: Acclimatization day in Samagaon

Taking a day of rest at Samagaon is recommended for better acclimatization. We can visit nearby Manaslu Base Camp or we can take side trip to Birendra Lake. Next alternative is to visit the cave that exists above 4000m. Stay overnight in Samagaon.

Day 11: Trek to Samdo (3690m) 3 hrs

Leaving Samagaon, we will pass through the meadow. Enjoying the view of Manaslu Mountain, we will make it to Samdo village (3860m). Samdo is a small settlement that was established by refugee from Tibet. We will visit local monastery in Samdo. Stay overnight in Samdo.

Day 12: Trek to Dharmashala (4450m) 4 hrs

Crossing a bridge, we will proceed west and follow the raised path above Larkya Bazaar. We will walk along the pasture land and enter oak forest. We can get scenic views of Syacha Glacier and Manaslu Mountain from most of the point. We will make it to Dharamsala which is the High camp for Larkya La pass. Stay overnight in Dharmasala.

Day 13: Trek to Bhimphedi (3590m) via Larkya La (5220m) 8 hrs

We will leave Dharmasala early in the morning and climb to Cho Chanda. A difficult climb will take us to the summit of Larkya La pass. We can get views of Himlung Mountain (7126m), Cheo Mountain (6820m) and Annapurna II (7937m) Mountain from the summit of Larkya La. We will descend to Bhimphedi. Stay overnight in Bhimphedi.

Day 14: Trek to Tilje (2300m) 5 hrs

After an early breakfast, we will leave Bhimphedi and follow the upward trail through rice field to reach Karcha La pass.  From the pass, we will lower down through rhododendron forest to the small settlement of Tilje. Stay overnight in Tilje.

Day 15: Trek to Chamje (1410m) 6-7 hrs

Leaving Tilje, we will walk through the stone path to Dudh River. We will pass through chorten to reach Thonje village. We need to show our trekking permit at police checkpoint. We will move out of Thonje and reach Dharapani. We will enter Annapurna circuit section from Dharapani. We will proceed further to Karte village. Crossing Marshyangdi River, we will reach Tal village from where we will descend all the way to Chamje.

Day 16: Take Local jeep to Besisahar, Drive to Kathmandu (1337m) 8 hrs

Leaving Chamje village, we will catch a local jeep that will take us to Besisahar. From Besi sahar, we will drive to Kathmandu in a private motor vehicle. Stay overnight in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: Departure

You will be taken to International Airport three hours prior to your scheduled flight.
