The Kathmandu valley
is surrounded by a tier of green mountain walls above which tower the mighty snowcapped peaks. A full picturesque view of the valley is received by only a trek. The route is comfortable, full of green fields and settlements of people who are still able to hold onto their way of traditional life of peasantry and self sustained business. This trip combines a relaxing and easy trek with the opportunity to experience our great cultural heritage. On little-frequented trails, it is fascinating to go from one village to another, along a river or on a hillside, through terraced rice-fields and woody areas and enjoy magnificent panorama of the countryside set against a backdrop of snow-covered peaks.
Every stage brings its own reward: the breath-taking scenery of the Himalayan peaks along the way while trekking through the beautiful Shivapuri National Park, with many rare species of birds and a diverse faune worth a view. As you proceed, you pass through villages around the hills that surround the valley, where the time has stood still, even when so close to a metropolis. The entire route has areas with conserved greenery and has an ideal mix of tradition and modernity. One does not have to miss the opportunity of seeing magnificent views of the Himalayas because this route also offers ample opportunities for viewing panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Gaurishankar to Langtang, Ganesh Himal and , if lucky, Mount Everest, to the perception of real proximity. During the season of late February to March, one can enjoy with the rhododendron flower. Also this area is famous to watch the wild animals as well as many specious of birds.
The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek provides you a unique opportunity to explore the myriad wonders of nature and the awe inspiring majesty and beauty of dramatic mountain views. The ethnic villages on the hillsides, still untouched by the plummeting urbanization on the land below, the simple way of life, and the naïve hospitality is something worth experiencing. Not to forget the local beaten rice with dishes native to the valley are definitely worth a try.
